2/3/08- At about 19:43 hours, DTVFC was alerted for a
possible ice rescue on the main lake in Wild Acres Community. A
officer from the Wild Acres Public Safety watched a male walk onto
the lake and lost site of him approx. 100 yards from shore. Units
arrived on scene and began a search of the lake, an island, and the
surrounding shore line. Due to the size of the lake, 28 Command
requested a helicopter and an airboat from the Sparrow bush FD to
assist in searching the lake. At approx. 21:30 hours a figure was
spotted nearly halfway across the lake from the command post. The
public safety officer confirmed that it was the wandering individual
he saw go out onto the ice. Station 26's crew redeployed onto the
ice from their position and made contact with the subject. After
several minutes of conversation with the subject and assurances that
he wasn't in trouble he was escorted off the ice and evaluated.

12/18/07- At about 17:20 hours, DTVFC was alerted for a MVA
rollover on Rt. 739 between Silver Lake Road and Rt. 209. Upon 28-3
arrival on scene, he stated that the patient was still inside the
overturned vehicle. When the apparatus arrived on the scene, crews
made quick work to cut out the patient and transport them to the
nearby hospital. Units returned into service at around 18:30 hours.

Head-On MVA Birchwood Lakes
12/18/07- At about 15:45 hours, the DTVFC was
alerted for a MVA reported 2 vehicles head-on, Redpine road,
Birchwood Lakes. When units arrived on scene, they found 2 vehicles
head on with one minor head laceration. All involved RMA'd. units
returned back into service at around 17:15.

12-17-07- Around, 0000 hours, the DTVFC was alerted
for Wires Down in Squall Hallow. 28-2 arrived on scene to find wires
on fire between 3 cars and 2 structures. He alerted for more
manpower to the scene in cause a fire arose. Units went back into
service at about 00:00 hours.

Chimney Fire Extends to the Structure
At about 16:45 hours, fire station and squad 28
were dispatched to a reported chimney fire with visible flames
coming from the chimney in Marcel Lake Estates. Units arrived
shortly thereafter to find that the fire had extended into the
structure. Crews quickly extinguished the fire. Crews also
dismantled the chimney. Units arrived back into service at around
18:30 hours.

Reported Odor Investigation Tones Out FD
11/5/07- At around 09:30 hrs, the
Delaware Township Volunteer Fire Company was dispatched to a
reported Odor Investigation on Lakeshore Dr., Wild Acres. Units soon
after arrived on the scene to find a boiler malfunction. Units
returned in service shortly thereafter

Early Morning MVA Sets Off Pagers
11/3/07- At about 02:45 hrs, Fire
station and Squad 28 were dispatched to a reported MVA with injury.

ATV Accident Sends One to CMC
At about 13:40 hrs, Fire Station and Squad 28,
along with Medic 401 were alerted for a reported ATV accident with
serious injury. Units arrived on scene and requested a Medivac to
fly. Units on scene returned to service soon thereafter.

Change Your Smoke Detectors
All residents, not only in Dingman's Ferry are urged to change your smoke detectors. Every daylight savings, batteries in all smoke and CO detectors should be changed. Remember, by taking time to do this may save your own life, maybe even your families.
One Flown to Community Medical Center
7/22/07-
At about 20:15, Station 28 was dispatched for a Motorcycle accident on Park Road around the S-Turns. Units arrive on scene to find patient had a 5 minute LOC. 28-3 immediately placed Medivac on standby. Upon arrival of the medics and after patient assessment, they requested Medivac to fly. 28 Tanker established the LZ at the Wilson Hill Road Ball fields. Late Night MVA
7/15/07-
At about 00:00 hrs, Station 28 was dispatched for a MVA at Aspen Road in Birchwood Lakes where a car drove off the roadway into a rock wall. 28-3 arrived on the scene and notified the Communication Center that there was negative injuries and to put tones in for a reduced response for the entire station. Caring Neighbor Calls in False Alarm
7/6/07- At around 20:30 hrs,
Station 28 was dispatched to a Structure Fire with visible flames
showing per the third party caller. As soon as the station
dispatched, 28-3 immediately called Station 26 for an engine and a
tanker to the scene. A few moments later, 28-4 arrived on the scene
to find a couch burning in a fire pit. 28-4 called into the
Communication Center and canceled all units and reported a false
alarm. All units were back in service at about 20:45 hrs.

Dingman's Creek Claims Another Life
7/5/07- Shortly after 07:00 hrs,
Station 28 along with several other surrounding fire departments
including Dingman Township, Bushkill, and Westfall Township
responded to a water rescue with a possible Code 101 in Dingmans
Creek. 28-3 arrived on the scene to find a body in the creek with a
confirmed Code 101. All units arrived at the scene and staged at the
Post Office parking lot per 28 command. The National Park Service
soon arrived and took over the scene and the recovery efforts. All
units were then returned back in service shortly after 08:45
hrs.

Bad Cooking Activates Alarm
7/5/07-
At around 18:30 hrs, Station 28 was dispatched to an activated alarm on Mountaintop Drive in Wild Acres. While en route, the communication center notified 28-2 that the residents burned food on the stove which activated the smoke detector. 28-2 then canceled all units a few moments later. Engine 1 Remains Out Of Service
7/5/07/- For just about over a
month, engine 1 stills remains out of service due to it being in an
American LaFrance shop getting major body repairs. The return of the
truck is said to be in late July, early August.
